Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 9:55AM The first day of PAX '09 has been over for a few hours now and all I can say is that it was more than I could have ever hoped for. I came prepared for anything (except for the amount of swag that I would collect), which is why I gear'd myself to the teeth to make sure that I could make the most of my con.
All 6 floors of the convention centre were absolutely packed with gamers and gear. I felt a bit overwhelmed at first, but after a long lunch on the patio across the street, we all felt a lot more productive. Here are some quick highlights:
- Great Keynote with Ron Gilbert
- Caught a sweet swag T for the Old Republic while I was in line for the Keynote
- Played the Beatles Rock Band game on a stage. Rock.
- Played in a mini Battlefield Bad Company 2 tournament.
- I actually met Wil Wheaton (as wicked as you'd expect)
- Checked out the ign.com party at Game Works
- Tried the new Tru Blood Beverage
- Did up some late night free play
- Saw the Splinter Cell: Conviction Demo live
- And I snapped a few booth babe photos
On deck for tomorrow:
- Panel day for us trying to catch most of the ones that I listed in my last post
- Some alone time with Mass Effect 2, Star Craft 2, and Left 4 Dead 2, and a few others
- Saturday Concerts
