Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 4:30AM Apple did what everyone was already expecting on Monday during their WWDC keynote - announce a new, slightly updated, iPhone. The iPhone 3GS is promised to be at least twice as fast as the iPhone 3G and boasts a host of upgrades compared to the original 3G. These upgrades include:
- a faster processor that consumes less energy
- new camera (3 MP) with auto focus and macro mode
- support for video recording @ 30FPS
- support for the new 7.2Mbps 3G standard (but that's up to your carrier)
- hardware 3D graphics support (for games and rendering)
- magnetic compass
- Nike+ built in
- Voice Control
- Improved battery life (still to be seen)
- Cost for a new client on a 2 year AT&T term?
- $199 16GB
- $299 32GB
- No official word on early upgrade options or pricing for Rogers customers in Canada
So then, after all's said and done, will you be upgrading from your 3G? What about from a 1G? How about from your busted old RAZR? Speak up and let us know!

I wouldn't say that I'm going to "trade in" my iPhone 3G. I'll still use it after I get the iPhone 3G S.
Would you give it to a family member to use as an iPhone or replace it with the 3GS and use the 3G as an iPod Touch?
