Alright, this is a self indulgent article. I admit, there is a fascination with women on the web and the idea of viewing a woman based solely on their appearance is not something I advocate. However, there's something to be said about each of these featured women and that they have a visual appeal which complements their specific areas of expertise. I would do a "Hottest Men" list but FatYoshi has dibs on that!
We've focused this list not purely based on the looks of each of the ladies but choose to balance their god-given genetics with their creative use of said genes. Each of these women have carved out a niche for themselves and have achieved great success in each of their chosen fields. So without further ado, GamerWok presents an incomplete list of the Hottest Women of the Wok - Web Edition (in no particular order)!
- Olivia Munn
Lisa Olivia Munn first made her splash on American TV as a sports intern at Fox Sports Net. But the real claim to fame for this Chinese/Caucasian mixed beauty is her co-hosting duty on G4TechTV's Attack of the Show. She replaced Sarah Lane on the show in 2006 and has since come into her own and found quite a niche with her crazy personality and penchant to try anything at least once (Lesbionic Woman, anyone?). She's on the Wok's Hot List because, as an actress and television personality, she's shown great dedication to her role and has improved exponentially since her debut during E3 2006. Not just another pretty face, Olivia Munn has earned a place on the web's hottest list. - Jessica Chobot
Jessica Lynn Horn AKA Jessica Chobot's claim to fame is a scandalous goof of a photo she did with one very lucky Sony PSP. By now, everyone has seen this infamous picture and it has adorned many a fanboy's monitors since 2005. That little piece of internet history, along with her passion for video games and all things Japanese, landed her a full time gig at IGN. Hired on as the IGN Weekly's host, she's branched out to other video segments and trade show coverages as well. With regular guest hosting duties on the many IGN podcasts, Chobot can clearly give any of the IGN editor's a run for their money. Since 2009, she's been busy with a weekly column over at Maxim.com and has a regular segment on Maxim Radio. She has been openly frank about her gaming obsessions and actually knows more about her subject matter than what's written on a script. By not being a phony and also for making fanboys line up for PSP's, she belongs on the Wok's Hot List.
- Lisa Bettany
This Vancouver, B.C. native started out as many things; a model, a photographer, an actress, a figure skater and a musician. But most importantly, she holds a Masters degree in Linguistics with a Bachelor's in Journalism. She doesn't really have a particular claim to fame as the other internet celebrities on thi s list but her outstanding work in photography and her involvement with technology and related media has earned her recognition all over the world. Most recently, she was the host for the third annual MacHeist Bundle event and her weekly webcast for "The Vancouver Province" can been seen on her website. The skill of turning her passion into a full time gig deserves serious praise and being a fellow Canadian doesn't hurt! Borrowing a phrase, Lisa Bettany deserves a place on the Wok's Hot List because she's "not just a hat-rack!" - Amanda Mackay
MacKay might not be a name those in the tech circles would know right away. The Coquitlam, B.C. native started out writing for the local newspaper and eventually moved on to television hosting and finally video game journalism. She had been the host for a few MTV Canada shows such as Select and World Chart Express but she really broke into the North American scene with her turn as host for G4TechTV's The Pulse. Like Chobot, MacKay knows her material and can be seen as dedicated and devoted to her chosen field. Of late, MacKay can be seen on Spike TV as co-host of GTTV with Geoff Keighley. Credit goes out to her for being recognized as a knowledgeable journalist in the field of video games, which has long had the tradition of choosing looks over substance. Of course her beautiful smile and winning cheekbones definitely helped in opening doors - and land her a spot on the Wok's Hot List. - Natili Del Conte
Last but not least is Natili Del Conte. Another Masters degree graduate, Del Conte is arguably the most well educated and well written woman on this list. Her exposure to print media started the more traditional route - newspapers. She finally made the jump into full time tech writing when she joined PC Magazine and was shortly recruited by TechCrunch. During her time at PC Magazine, she did a few regular guest appearances on PC Magazine's Cranky Geeks webcast and was quickly noticed and offered her own show full time. Since then, she's moved on to the CNET family and has a regular daily webcast called "Loaded" and is a third chair on CNET's flagship podcast, Buzz Out Loud. Del Conte wins on all levels with her amazingly cute smile, the uncanny ability to tilt her head to the side in every photo, and her firm knowledge in all things technology and media. Her spot on the Wok's Hot List was reserved long before any other candidates.

As you can see, this is list is far from complete and there are a LOT more women worthy to be included (my job is tough!) But what you can also see is that each of these women do not solely rely on their looks to carry them but they also bring insight and genuine value to their content. Which is of course the reason we all watch/read their blogs/vlogs isn't it?
