Marvel VS. Capcom 2 Reborn

Many vocal gamers have spoken up over the hype surrounding MVC2 being remastered in HD and released on the PSN/XBLA.  Comments such as "MVC is for people who can't play fighting games" to "MVC is for babies!" adorn all the forums.  Personally, I love MVC and have since it first graced the arcades when I was in Junior High School.  We used to cut class just see if we can finish the whole game on one quarter.

The argument is that MVC was too easy as those with skill could still be defeated by simple button masher teams of Spiderman and Wolverine.  I agree that the game certain was a tad more favorable for the button mashers but it was not an easy game.  There was still some great rewards for finding that special combo or being able to fight the purist way (only using Capcom characters).

The appeal of this game certainly was the massive combos and the over-the-top flash of the characters.  What other game could you get a 47 hit combo with Cable's laser rifle?  I for one am happy to see MVC2 return to this generation's console.  With the success of Street Fighter 4 and its HD Remix, I hope that more 2D fighters will indeed continue to be reborn on this generation's consoles, with full multiplayer support.  This is truly the first time fighting games can be played overseas, reliably for the first time (since the Dreamcast still used a 56K modem!)
