Ready to Get WET?

The next Bethesda game isn't Fallout 4.  Instead, the talented publisher is bring you into a world of guns, sword-play, and of course, boobs.  WET is the third person action title from the publisher of Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls but this next title differs drastically from those other moody RPGs.  WET casts the player in the role of Rubi Malone, a paid assassin that's contracts out her skills for "Wet" work.  The story is one that has occurred countless times before - hero is hired to do something that seems ordinary yet a betrayal or complication creates a mess that the player now has to navigate through and sort out.

arena_01While the story is mundane, the action shouldn't be.  From early screenshots and videos, Bethesda seems to be taking a cue from many other publishers and going with a more stylized look rather than a carbon copy of Tomb Raider or Uncharted.

ragemode03WET is a title that has been creating a fair amount of buzz mainly due to Bethesda's name being attached to it, but it also boasts the writer Duppy Demitrius, the pen behind the great action/drama TV series, 24.  The early screens of the game does show the title to be still in very early stages, with plenty of clipping and aliasing issues.  However, the retro-stylized acrobatics of Rubi can be clearly seen.

carhopping_16So can this game live up to the hype and can Bethesda weave an interesting enough tale to keep gamer's interested?  It's still too early to call but lets hope that WET receives the same bad-ass treatment 24 has received this season and that it's so good, Jack Bauer will even play it!  WET is set to arrive on PS3 and Xbox360 in Fall 2009.
