8-Bit Weapon on a Floppy Disk

Those of you that are into retro BGM or 8-Bit era music will undoubtedly know the name "8-Bit Weapon".  Band members Seth and Michelle teams up to create original pieces using 8-bit era consoles, machines, and electronics.  If you haven't yet heard their stuff, you can check out some of their work at their website: http://www.8bitweapon.com

However, just announced is their latest EP, "Electric High".  This limited edition EP has six original tracks remixed using the FX sounds from systems of yesteryear, such as the the Apple II, Commodore 64, Atari 2600, Nintendo Gameboy, and the NES.  For a demo of the first four tracks, visit the band's MySpace page: www.myspace.com/8bitweapon More importantly, the band is celebrating this new EP by releasing a limited 500 copies on a real 5.25" floppy disk!  Nostalgia freaks out there should head over to the band's store now to snap up this very special piece of work.  Each disk is hand numbered and can be yours for $9.95USD with free worldwide shipping.

And for us that are into podcasting or remixing work, 8BW has also teamed up with Sony Creative Software to release a whole 8-bit loop library called, "8 Bit Weapon: A Chiptune Odyssey".  These loops will work with all popular audio processing software, including ACID and Garage Band.  As an added bonus, if you purchase the downloadable version of the loop library, you will receive the MP3 version of the band's "Electric High EP" for free.

Full details here on Sony's website: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/8bitweapon

Some of their work has been featured on past GamerWok Hour episodes (/podcasts) and you can even spot some of their loops in the bumpers we use during our show!
