Well, at least the demo that is.  THQ and Volition announced this morning that the Red Faction: Guerrilla's anticipated demo is now available for the PSN and XBL.

Developed by THQ internal studio Volition, Inc., Red Faction: Guerrilla is a 3rd person, open-world shooter featuring real physics-based destruction, a story-driven single-player campaign and robust multiplayer options. The demo features an action-packed single-player mission introducing the groundbreaking GeoMod™ 2.0 Destruction Engine, and comes just weeks before the June 2nd launch of Red Faction: Guerrilla.

The demo puts you in the role of Alec Mason, a freedom fighter fending off the oppressive Earth Defense Force for the control of the Mars colony.  The real kick to Red Faction: Guerrilla is the GeoMod 2.0 engine, in which real world physics is applied to the destruction and creation of in game buildings.  The game has so far gained fair preview impressions from around the internet.  The story itself will take place 50 years after the original Red Faction, which was released for the PS2.  Red Faction: Guerrilla is expected to ship worldwide on June 2, 2009.
