[/caption]The folks over at Play-Asia has somehow secured a shipment of the previously super secret, ultra exclusive, club Nintendo, Japan only, SNES controller for the Wii. This controller acts exactly as a classic controller would when connected to your Wii, sans the analogue sticks. But before you get too excited, this is retailing for $80 USD plus shipping so it's not cheap. I'm sure there are hardcore fans out there that will undoubtedly be buying one right away but the truth is, for $80, you could get a used SNES system with a few classic games. Check out Play-Asia for ordering information but it's currently back-ordered so no word on when you may get yours.
Update: Looks like the Play-Asia stock ran out after Engadget picked up the news. It's now listed as Discontinued with no way to order. But have no fear, if you are still in the market for something totally geed and retro, check out what Datel is offering for Wii owners:
Oh yeah, that's the original FAMICOM styling for the Wii. All the buttons are there so it doesn't quite look as authentic as the Super Famicom version. But this thing also costs $19.99. Check it out at the CodeJunkies store.
