CNN announced this week that it will be using Facebook as their official partner for the Obama Inauguration status feed.  Basically, they will be redoing the CNN Live site and overlaying Facebook status streams on the right hand side.  The point is that while you're watching their Live coverage of the event, you can update your Facebook status and also view your friends' status updates as well, Twitter style.  So it begs the question, why didn't CNN just use Twitter to begin with?
