Grand Theft Software

The choice is yours, but choose wisely. The choice is yours, but choose wisely.

In an exclusive interview with IGN UK this past week, Rockstar explained their stance on DRM and their choice in the adoption of SecuROM for Grand Theft Auto IV for the PC.  Their reason for using DRM is similar to other developers: protecting their intellectual property against digital theft.  The argument presented by many users for the need for online activation is that not everyone has an active internet connection.  Rockstar said that they will be providing alternate ways for activation to proceed, one of which is to allow a user to activate their copy of the game from another computer that does have internet access, such as one at an internet cafe.
