Yes. It grows on trees. This week, Apple opened up a new website and web video spot to praise itself on how green their new Macbooks are. Apple pats themselves on the back throughout the online video, proclaiming that the new Macbooks are highly recyclable with its glass screen and aluminum casing. It also brings forth the interesting notion that it used less than a quarter of the power of a single light blub (how many watts of a light blub?), and it's free of "harmful toxins" such as mercury. The ad ends with the tag line, "The World's Greenest Family of Notebooks". The truth is that the latest Macbooks are more energy efficent than its predessors but exactly how green is still up to debate. There have certainly been much improvement in the design, materials, and the packaging alone is worth noting (that it is 25% smaller than previous Macbooks - think of the shipping cost saved!)
