What are you looking at? Go buy a DS!

Nintendo is launching a Red Mario themed limited edition DS this Friday in the US.  The word from Gizmodo is that they are bundling the New Super Mario Bros. with the limited edition, which is also branded with the signature "M" logo on the front.  This is reminiscent of the Limited Edition Hot Rod Red Phat DS with Mario Cart (of which I also own but decided to trade off for a DS Lite).  Price is set at $150 but no word on how long the "limited time" will be for the system.

The question really is do you need another color and with the DSi already around the corner, should you be buying another limited edition.  As far as I know, there's not a high failure rate in DS Lites so any replacement units should only be the result of PEBKAC (unless you're FatYoshi, which has a bladder problem).  However, if there's that special kid in your life that's still rocking a Gameboy SP and needs a DS badly (and they seriously do if they are stuck on GBA generation) then this package gives you a neutral color, fancy logo, and a good game too boot.  Probably out of all the exisiting packages, it's the least obtrusive and offers decent value.  But this should not be the product to sway you into the purchase of another DS Lite.  Save your money and wait for a DSi or if you need to have another back up for all your pirating R4 needs, then this one should be a safe bet.
