Walk of Shame
Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 7:23AM There are accepted norms in society. You have to wait in the emergency room, government workers gets automatic tenure, you should workout more so that you can eat McDonalds. And a while ago I wrote up my thoughts on underachieving in life after reading The Underachiever’s Manifesto by Ray Bennett but below are some pictures I have taken this week with my iPhone (so excuse the crappy quality and lack of zoom) that truly characterizes underachievement to the next level.
Here is a guy that works in my building. He’s a designer of some sort and seems to be relatively competent but in what world is it acceptable to sleep on a bench in the middle of the afternoon during work hours? Before you ask, I was on a balcony taking a coffee break!
How many civil servants does it take to change a light bulb?
Here’s another example of underachievement in all its glory. 4 city workers, 2 repair trucks are needed to complete major repairs on a street lamp: a light bulb burned out. Notice the hard working civil servant holding all the light bulbs while his fellow employees offer moral support.
